So I just decided to take Mrs.Venter's dog for a walk. I thought it would be nice to go down to the dunes again so we headed off in that direction.
It was a path that I've taken many times before without any incident so I figured it would be the same.
I was just rounding the last corner before you hit the road to the dunes when - BAM - out of nowhere there's a friggin huge ostrich literally 10 feet in front of me.
I don't think I've even been that scared of a bird in my entire life!
So...we just sort of stared at each other for a little bit and then it just went on its merry little way like it owned the place or something.
I just stood there in shock and watched it leave.
why, oh why didn't I bring my camera??

HAHAHAHA!!! That is AWESOME!! What the heck did Belka do? How did that thing cross the desert? Great story telling Jen... another day in Africa!
Belka's eyes are so bad now she didn't even notice!! so funny...she just wanted to sniff at some more sand!
